Honors Accelerated Graduate Pathways: Stetson 3 + 3 Bachelor’s/J.D. Program
In partnership with Stetson University College of Law (SUCL), the ±«Óătv Judy Genshaft Honors College offers an accelerated pathway to a law degree for students enrolled in the Honors College.
The Stetson 3 + 3 Bachelor’s/J.D. Program allows eligible students to use their first-year law courses at SUCL to satisfy the fourth year of elective requirements for their bachelor's degree at ±«Óătv. Students will graduate from ±«Óătv at the end of their fourth year and proceed into the second year of law school.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must be admitted to the Judy Genshaft Honors College and must provide notice to the Judy Genshaft Honors College of intent to apply for the Stetson 3 + 3 Bachelor’s/J.D. Program on or before September 1 of the year prior to their intended matriculation at SUCL. Generally, this should occur at the beginning of a student’s junior year.
GPA and LSAT Testing
Students must:
- Earn a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 by the date of application to SUCL.
- Earn a minimum LSAT score in the 75th percentile of by the application date.
Undergraduate Coursework and Documentation
Students may pursue any major and participate in the Stetson 3 + 3 Bachelor’s/J.D.
Program. Most pre-law students opt for political science, international studies, history,
economics, criminology, environmental science and policy, or other social science
majors.
Regardless of major, students must:
- Be an active undergraduate degree-seeking student at ±«Óătv at the time of application. (Alumni who have already graduated are not eligible for this program.)
- Complete at least 89 credits in the undergraduate curriculum before matriculating at SUCL. Forty-five of these credits must be completed at ±«Óătv.
- Provide notice to the Judy Genshaft Honors College of intent to apply on or before September 1 of the year prior to intended matriculation at SUCL.
- Receive the written recommendation of the dean of the Judy Genshaft Honors College no later than December 1 in the academic year before beginning J.D. study.
- Be eligible for graduation from ±«Óătv no later than four years after first matriculating at ±«Óătv, with first-year law courses applied to the undergraduate degree.
Transfer Student Eligibility
Transfer students may be eligible for the Stetson 3 + 3 Bachelor’s/J.D. Program if they can complete their general education courses, major courses, and Honors College requirements in three years. However, most transfer students do not have enough time to complete their Honors College requirements in time to matriculate to SUCL after three years. Students who transfer to ±«Óătv are recommended to participate in the Stetson 4 + 3 Graduate Pathway program instead.
Applying to Stetson University College of Law
Students must:
- Apply for admission to SUCL’s full-time J.D. program between October 1 and January 15 in the academic year before beginning J.D. study.
- Meet character and fitness requirements and comply with general admissions policies.
The SUCL application requires:
- An LSAT score
- A personal statement
- A resume uploaded through
- An official transcript sent from ±«Óătv to SUCL
- Up to three letters of recommendation (at least one must be from an academic reference such as an instructor or advisor)
Recommendation letters should demonstrate academic potential, character, and alignment with academic, personal, and professional goals.
Students are admitted to SUCL on a rolling basis.

Deferments may be granted for one year on a case-by-case basis. Requests must be made in writing to the assistant dean of admissions and student financial planning at SUCL after paying the confirmation fee (seat deposit).
Entering the Stetson 3+3 Bachelor's/J.D. Accelerated Program
Students interested in pursuing this option should email the Stetson Law contact for their campus. Additionally, students should inform their major and Honors advisors about their plans to enter the program.

Students are able to opt out of the program at any time by reaching out to their campus representative. Additionally, students should inform their major and Honors advisors about their plans to enter the program.
If a student meets ±«Óătv’s bachelor’s degree requirements after three years but does
not meet Stetson 3 + 3 Bachelor’s/J.D. Program benchmarks, they can graduate and apply
to law school through the traditional application cycle.
If a student does not meet ±«Óătv’s graduation requirements after three years, they may
stay at ±«Óătv for a fourth year and apply to SUCL through the Stetson 4+3 Graduate Pathway
Program or to other law schools.
Additional Benefits and Scholarships
Students admitted to SUCL under the Stetson 3 + 3 Bachelor’s/J.D. Program will be
assigned a faculty mentor to assist during the period from admission to matriculation
at SUCL and automatically receive a scholarship, renewable for the second and third
years of law school subject to the SUCL’s academic scholarship requirements.
In addition, students will receive a book stipend of up to $1,500 for first-year law
books, redeemable at the Stetson University College of Law bookstore.

The Stetson 4+3 Graduate Pathway Program
Additionally, Stetson University College of Law offers a 4+3 Graduate Pathway Program that is open to all ±«Óătv students. This program offers similar financial support but a traditional timeline.
In the 3+3 program, students may only attend Stetson College of Law, because they will not have an official bachelor's degree. If students want to explore other law schools, the 4+3 program would be more suitable.
