The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Teacher Education prepares students to become scholars and practitioners in the field of teacher education. The concentration's curriculum engages students in course work, research, and professional experience in school and community settings. Upon graduation, students will have the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the scholarships of teaching, service and research.
The PhD concentration in teacher education features opportunities to:
- Participate in engaged scholarship through collaborative work focused on current educational problems with partner schools and community centers.
- Develop integrated and interdisciplinary perspectives on teacher education practice with a commitment to diversity and exploring global perspectives.
- Explore issues of equity both locally and globally.
