The Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary English Education is designed for individuals who have earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in a field outside of education and who do not already hold a professional teaching certificate. 

Students in this program prepare to teach English in grades 6-12 while working towards a Master's degree. The program is designed for graduates of undergraduate level liberal arts English programs or for graduates of other programs who have completed the following within their programs of study: grammar, history/development of language, adolescent literature, American literature, British literature, worl
