2025 Fulbright Specialist – Engineering Professor, Arash Takshi

Professor Arash Taksh, has been named a Fulbright Specialist by the U.S. Department of State. This appointment provides U.S. professionals like Takshi with a chance to participate in short-term, project-based exchanges, where they work with host institutions abroad to promote mutual understanding and foster educational collaborations. The Fulbright Specialist Program is designed to provide U.S. academics and professionals with the opportunity to share their expertise globally while building capacity at their overseas host institutions.

±«Óãtv Engineering Assistant Professor Awarded New Researcher Grant in 2025: Rituparna Samanta

Assistant Professor Rituparna Samanta from ±«Óãtv’s Department of Chemical, Biological, and Materials Engineering has been awarded a 2025 New Researcher Grant. Her work explores the phase behavior of proteins and polymers, advancing biomedical engineering and materials science. Samanta joined ±«Óãtv in 2024 after postdoctoral work at Johns Hopkins.

Joe Register Donates to ±«Óãtv Engineering to Support Student Innovation

In December 2024, Joe Register, Ph.D., chief engineer at AEVEX Aerospace and a proud alumnus of the ±«Óãtv College of Engineering, generously donated to the ±«Óãtv Foundation to support multiple initiatives within the college. For years, Aarans Pond has been a dumping ground. A team from ±«Óãtv is trying to change that and improve the water quality. Aarans Pondis located off of Fletcher Avenue near 15th Street and was created more than 50 years ago to deal with flooding in the University area. Stormwater ponds were a common fix for low-lying communities. Learn more about the pond now in 2025.
