Two ±«Óãtv Civil & Environmental Engineering teams won the Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA) Student Design Competition at the Florida Water Resources Conference held May 4-7, 2025 in West Palm Beach. The teams were advised by Professors Sarina Ergas and Tom Cross.
- ReNew Engineering, consisting of, Regina Demechko, Santosh Jagan, Nicholas Moran, Garrett Rolle and Chase Royall, redesigned the sludge drying facility at the Tippin Water Treatment Plant, including a land swap with Rogers Park Golf Course and redesign of the course.
- SustainaCore, consisting of Ochithya Fernando, Isabella Guzaldo, Schuyler Jones, Adriana Mayr Mejia and Isaac Washington, evaluated eleven different alternatives for producing Class A biosolids for the Howard F. Curren Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant, recommending a solar thermal pasteurization facility.
