Prior to joining the ±«Óătv over nine years ago, Barbara practiced law in both Miami and the Tampa Bay area assisting high net worth estate planning clients prior to focusing on health law. In early 2014, Barbara joined ±«Óătv Health and in 2016 was named the ±«Óătv Health Civil Rights Coordinator to address nondiscrimination in health care under the Affordable Care Act. In the fall of 2018, Barbara was named the ±«Óătv Health Privacy Officer. In 2021, Barbara was also named the ±«ÓătvTGP Privacy Officer.
Barbara earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the ±«Óătv in 1994, her Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law – Camden in 1997, her Master of Laws degree in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000, and a Master of Laws degree in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2013. She also earned her Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification in 2021 and earned the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification in 2022. In addition, she completed her Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) Certification in 2024. Barbara is a licensed attorney in the state of Florida with over 25 years of legal experience and is also a member of the Florida Bar Association.

Benjamin “Ben” Johnson is the Senior Privacy Analyst in the ±«Óătv Privacy & Healthcare Civil Rights Compliance Program. Ben received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from Shawnee State University, located in Portsmouth, Ohio. Thereafter, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School n/k/a Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. He has over fifteen (15) years of legal experience, focusing mainly in the areas of civil litigation, estate planning, trust litigation, and civil appeals. Ben began his association with ±«Óătv in 2018, being hired in the role of Privacy Specialist in the former Professional Integrity Office. Prior to his taking on the role of Privacy Specialist, he gained experience in the HIPAA compliance arena working directly with 2 organizations providing healthcare services to correctional institutions and civil commitment centers throughout the United States. In 2021, he attained his CHPS certification (Certified in Healthcare Compliance and Security) offered through AHIMA, and became a CRA/Advanced (Certified Research Administrator) through the ±«Óătv Research and Innovation Academy of Certified Research Administrators in 2022. He has active memberships with both HCCA and SCCE.

Jillian is a HIPAA Privacy Investigator for the ±«Óătv Privacy & Healthcare Civil Rights Compliance program. Prior to joining ±«Óătv, she served as Health Information Operations Supervisor for Ciox Health, a national healthcare data management company. In this role, she oversaw Release of Information for four BayCare Health System hospitals. She led Health Information Management staff in HIPAA privacy compliance, specializing in government audits and Risk Management record requests. Her other experience includes leading administrative support as a Charge Physician Support Specialist for Tampa General Medical Group, where she oversaw and trained administrative staff on compliance of CMS, JCAHO and HIPAA requirements. Jillian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from the ±«Óătv.
